Last Day On Earth

What would you do if it were your last day on Earth?  Watch that movie that you're obsessed with?  Spend it with your family? Make love to the person who holds your heart?  Maybe even be a little adventurous and try something new, like skydiving or skinny dipping?

I have no idea what I'd do.  All I know is that I never want to have to think about what I would do if I knew that I only had a few days left.

I have a long time left in this world, granted that I don't get hit by a bus or anything any time soon.  But tomorrow is the start of something new, so I guess that today is the last day of my old life, tomorrow is the first of my new one.

My friend and I have made a deal: for the next semester, we're going to help each other out and encourage each other to do the best that we can.  We have 'four pillars of friendship' that will, hopefully, see us in a better place at the end of this semester of uni.  And I bet you want to know what the aforementioned pillars are, right?  Here you go:

  1. Fitness:  we're going to encourage each other to go to the gym and actually do exercise and what not through out the semester so that we can get fit.
  2. Health:  This one's a simpler one - we're going to encourage each other to eat healthier.  That means, good food on a Saturday night and no desert at dinner.  It shouldn't be too hard.
  3. Study:  my friends going to get a copy of my timetable and kick my butt if I'm in my room when I should be in a class or lecture.  I know myself - if I miss one, I won't go back, so now I can't miss any.  This also involves limiting the amount of TV that I can watch, which might be a struggle, but is worth a try.
  4. Cleanliness:  I fail at keeping my room clean, so we have decided to kick each other's butt if we can't keep our rooms clean.  It shouldn't be too hard, seeing as I brought pretty much nothing back to uni with me.

Sound feasible to you?  I think it could work, or at least I'm hoping that it can.  I really want to do well at uni and get healthy so I'm going to work towards it.  But it all starts tomorrow.

Today, as I mentioned before, was the last day of my 'old' life.  Starting tomorrow, I'm going to become the good, studious kid who goes for a run every morning, eats right and studies instead of watching movies.

Today, I watched the end of one of my new favourite TV shows, The Secret Life of The American Teenager, finished writing and editing my first novel (which I spent an hour printing so I can send it to a friend to read and edit for me), and ate the last of my chocolate.  Not a bad way to spend my last day on Earth, if you ask me.

But, as for now, it's time to sleep.

I hope you all enjoyed my ramblings and will continue to check back in with me to check out what I get up to in my new life.

xx
